I just got my results and I passed. I couldn't have done it without CollabCert. Your knowledge and rack equipment are unparalleled with anyone else in the training industry for the collaboration track.
Joel Murphy CCIE #57723 (Collaboration)
My CCIE journey truly began five years ago when I joined my current employer. I was incentivized to pass the CCIE Voice written. I studied for a couple of months and was able to pass. Following that, for one reason or another…work, family, life,
Dan Writz - CCIE #57612 (Collaboration)
I truly enjoyed my time working with CollabCert. Vik’s knowledge and proven process was instrumental to passing the CCIE. I highly recommend CollabCert to CCIE Collaboration candidates.
Samuel Baxter- CCIE #57573 (Collaboration)
I am extremely happy with my decision to choose CollabCert for my CCIE training. Coming into this process I had many doubts of my readiness to achieve this goal. By using the strategy provided by Vik I was able to gain speed, accuracy, and most importantly confidence in my journey. This was my first attempt at any CCIE exam and I can honestly say I couldn’t have done it without CollabCert. I was able to pass the exam on my first attempt after 6 months of dedicated training! I strongly suggest getting the Workshop or Bootcamp, as I came into the workshop feeling strong about certain topics while having reservations about others. I was confident I was ready to sit the exam but in reality, I was around 70%. Vik sat down with me and guided me through my mistakes by teaching and making sure I thoroughly understood the technologies. To anyone thinking of going for the CCIE Collaboration Lab, don’t look any further – Choose CollabCert.
Daniel Chaves – CCIE #57565 (Collaboration)
I am going to start by saying that I was hesitating about taking the class with Vik, all of the folks that I know who have passed the test and have taken the class were strongly recommending it but there was a financial aspect to it as well. In the end I decided to give it a try hoping that it would give me the final touches I needed to pass.
I got real serious about studying about 4 or 5 months prior to the class, when I got there I realized how far along I was from getting a real opportunity at it. To me, the big thing about taking the class was getting Vik to review my labs and provide feedback on the things I was doing wrong. I have to say, I am a very stubborn person and always question everything I am being told ~ I just cant blindly follow directions ~ and that's what made the world of difference with CollabCert, not only was I told what I was doing wrong but I was told the why and was shown to me with debugs and traces; it would have probably taken me many attempts, lots of money and tons of frustration to find those mistakes on my own.
To me, the level of expertise and experience that Vik has on this field, the level of follow up and interest that he puts on every student and getting to know folks that were at the same level I was and with whom I was able to study made the biggest impact on my studies.
Whether you are getting on the CCIE boat because your company is pushing you for it, because you need a salary raise or just because you need to obtain it for the personal feeling of accomplishment and pride (my case) I would strongly recommend Vik and Collabcert.
I took my first try back in 2013 and procrastinated for 4 years before getting serious and finally passing and while some of the merit goes to my employer, my wife, my family and collabcert, the feeling of accomplishment and pride is 99.99% personal, my only advice to folks embarking on the same journey is to work hard and get to it.
Aaron Dailey – CCIE #56797 (Collaboration)
As you can read from the many testimonials below, Vik is the real deal. I originally sat for the Voice lab twice using only self-study materials. Vik helped me pass the Collaboration lab on my first attempt. The CollabCert bootcamp was instrumental in putting me over the top and helped me get my number.
However, not only does Vik’s strategy and training enable you to have a fighting chance to obtain Cisco’s CCIE, his knowledge will also help you in your day-to-day job as a Unified Communications/Collaboration engineer. Bottom line, you will become a better collaboration engineer, regardless. He is an awesome host and better guy. Thanks, Vik!
Quang-Son Nguyen - CCIE #56010 (Collaboration)
CollabCert workshop was the first and only study material I paid during my 9 months long preparation. Man, I have no regret at all. I can say with certainty that without Vik's guidance, I wouldnt have made it.
As a learn-on-the-job contender, I really enjoyed the bootcamp format. There was a lot of hand-on and very few lecture.
But Vik is a guy who really knows his business. When he starts explaining and highlighting stuffs, you ought to listen to him. Those are things that not only can help you on the lab day but also on your real life deployments. It's like you rediscover your question when Vik gives you the answer.
Thanks again Vik.
Narinder Sandhu - CCIE #55972 (Collaboration)
The path to the CCIE lab has been very emotional and test of real determination, looking for the right training material was a task on its own. When I came across the Collabcert I didn’t think twice, having followed Viks progress and history I knew the lab books would be of a high quality. As I worked through the workbooks I noticed Vik had a way of explaining issues that aided understanding and facilitated learning. Vik was always there at the end of an email to provide me with guidance and motivation especially after my first attempt. I would definitely recommend Collabcert to anyone pursuing the CCIE collaboration the quality of the material is second to none.
Thanks Mike and Vik for all the great work.
Eduardo Rossettini - CCIE #24505 (Collaboration)
I would like to thank CollabCert for providing a world class training material, for the professionalism and also for going beyond the traditional teaching style.
The training videos are top notch and the bootcamp definitely made a difference in terms of lab preparation. I left the bootcamp confident that I had all the required knowledge and the right strategy to pass.
The knowledge acquired in the training has definitely improved my skills not only for the exam, but also to perform my job.
On top of that, I had a great time with Vik Malhi and the students during the bootcamp.
I strongly recommend CollabCert if are you serious about getting your CCIE.
Ollie Young - CCIE #55836 (Collaboration)
I’m please to say I’ve passed my CCIE lab exam and am CCIE# 55836.
Thanks for you training it’s been excellent and I will continue to refer to it in daily work life. I can certainly say that I wouldn’t have been anywhere close without your guidance and advice on my 1st attempt.
Ahmed Al-Khadar - CCIE #55833 (Collaboration)
A dream that come true! I finally passed the CCIE Collaboration exam on my 2nd attempt.
First of all, words escape me when need to express how grateful and thankful I am to Vik and Mike!!!
How lucky to have a coach like Vik, a real Collaboration expert who can overcome complex problems and make them simple to students.
Vik's videos are fantastic and make complicated topics simple and easy to understand – The examples and explanations are clear and leave no doubt in how it should be done.
Everything I got with Collabcert exceeded my expectations!!
I attended a lot of training sessions and courses in different locations: Middle East, Europe, North Africa and US. This boot camp is the best training I ever received in my life.
Long story short…A real CCIE Collaboration must learn the technologies, design a strategy, The Collaboration blueprint is huge. Cisco CCIE certification is recognized as the “PHD” of Cisco Networking. The track is not easy. I’ve been in the IT Network and Telecom field for 12 Years
In 2007, I got my CCNA and started my career with cisco certifications, I quickly mapped out a plan to becoming a CCIE within 10 years
I prepared for my exam starting by Self-study using various training materials. Then I purchased a boot camp with Training company in March 2016. Unfortunately, they were not answering all my calls, the website went down a few weeks later and lately I found the vendor had just closed and filed bankruptcy. I was very disappointed broken at that time, but never gave up.
When I found out about Collabcert, I knew this is the place where I can get my number and see the dream grow up again. I went through reading reviews and testimonials about Collabcert, Then I decided to purchase the (Workbook+LMS+2weeksILT&Workshop) combo package. The training materials from Collabcert is by far the best I have ever seen.
I first spent six months reading and watching videos on the CCIE lab topics before attend the Collabcert boot-camp, Then I planned for the last two months before the exam to be my focus on practice the Lab and enhance my speed.
The last two weeks before my exam day, I went with rack rental option 1. (used VPN to connect my own practice phones). This was my first time ever using rack rental and I must say I was impressed. There was no lag and everything worked great.
I think Collabcert is a way for success. I wouldn’t have completed this journey without your guys!!
Thank you, Vik and Mike for all your amazing non-traditional work!!”
Francisco Fossa - CCIE #55749 (Collaboration)
I approached Mike and Vik with reservations, being an orphan of the infamous competition program everybody knows, which failed miserably even to respond to any request.
I found in CollabCert an incredible professionalism in every respect. Mike was very sure about helping me and I got great value from my investment. They added some perks I was not expecting, and the treatment was always a personal one. From the start Vik helped me with a VPN problem on a Sunday morning (of all days!), in order for me to start doing the practice in the lab. At the end the problem was on my side and we got things in motions after getting things right. The rental was perfect for me because of weird hours I worked on it, and the response and speed was next to perfect. I wouldn't recommend any other rental, and I tested some, just in case to get acquainted with other devices. Not necessary. At the end got unused tokens.
Collabcert videos and documentation were gratifying and to the point, most kudos to the CUBE part, which is probably the best explanation you can find about this. The program makes sense the way Vik created it: Videos - bootcamp - practice - exam.... Then I went to San Jose where we went deep into the 2 weeks bootcamp. Everything worked great, we worked until very late, and even Vik let us work on the weekend. We were just a bunch of wannabes CCIE. He never had a problem explaining stuff to us over and over, individually and in group, and at the end I really had the feeling I was almost there. Vik was there to help us get there and gave us all the tools we needed.
Being a slow slug myself, I needed extra practice on my own anyway to get accuracy and get final adjustments to the strategy. Two other fellows went for it almost immediately after the bootcamp, with mixed results. At the end I failed a first time, and then passed on the second. Vik offered me me a short review after the fail, because I went out thinking I passed. He encouraged not to wait too long and after 6 weeks including another week of rental, I got my number.
The most important lesson learned, and this was something I told Mike and Vik, was to keep in touch with the other guys who were really going for it. Review notes, talk shop, exchange observations, even long after the bootcamp. It made a big difference for me. The other two who did the full two weeks, we all made it at the end, within the same two weeks. It was worth it.
Wisam Ismael - CCIE #55720 (Collaboration)
I started my CCIE Collab journey when Cisco announced the move from Voice to Collab , got the new collaboration blueprint. I purchased from a vendor that doesn’t exist today , I was shocked and in the middle of nowhere on what I purchased having studied for a year. I had no idea to whom I can put my trust again , I was reading the Collabcert blog and read the story of the guy who traveled to Chicago and discovered the same vendor I used was closed and how Collabcert contacted him and helped to achieve his dream ( which he did ), I contacted Mike Down and he was awesome guy easy to deal with and helped me get on track back.
I bought the full collabcert ILT , workbook, plus the bootcamp , and got amazed how Vik was a special trainer he was on top of every question I used to through on him, Vik evaluated me and told me I am ready to take the exam , I booked a day and guess what? My dream came true and thanks God first then Vik which I call him today my Hero. When you go to collabcert bootcamp you can feel he is one of your family members.
The bootcamp facility was awesome everyone had his own rack practice any time in the day facility opened 24 X 7 , food was good everyday from a different world kitchen cuisine (Korean, medeterian, pizza , subs) WOW. Hats down to Collabcert team!
Ruben Rojas – CCIE #55530 (Collaboration)
I have dedicated 3 years to studying to pursue the certificate of CCIE Collaboration, learning by myself using several training materials that I bought with several training vendors which were good but not excellent and did not help me enough. Then I was recommended by some friends to CollabCert Inc. and I decided to subscribe their page, contact Mike and tell him that I did not have a good domain of English to pay my seat in the bootcamp.
He helped me connect with Vik directly which impressed me very much kind attention and his confidence in telling me that I would always try to explain with diagrams and drawings. We would also speak the same language of IOS, that message was decisive:-) I decided to pay for the training for the two weeks, I traveled to San Jose to train and everything was true, Vik was very clear and his explanations more detailed gave the luxury of approaching face to face with each of the members, also has small activities to release stress that makes training much more fun, the rest is history.
Vik is an incredible proctor expert and has the ability to tackle complex problems and make them easy to understand. CollabCert training materials are far from the best on the market I have seen, each of the bootcamp members had their own rack equal to the actual testing center, Vik is really worth it. Vik recommended detailed tasks on how we could achieve it faster and more functional. I took his advice and followed absolutely everything step by step, from the beginning to the verification. At the end of January 2017, I flew to San Jose, I took the exam I felt very comfortable as if I were in the bootcamp one more day, and I pass to my first attempt, Thanks for everything CollabCert.
Deepak Mehta - CCIE #55529 (Collaboration)
I started my CCIE collab journey last year in March 2016 and went for a bootcamp with another provider. I was following their approach however i had tough times making things work and there was no logical approach. I used to get stuck while doing the lab.
In late October, I read Collabcert's testimonials on their website and i decided that i want to try this, yes i made my decision based on testimonials.
In first 5 days i knew this is what i need to do .Vik has logical explanation for each of the LAB exam topics and also his solutions and rack by far the best. His grading methods and expertise is the actually the game changer.
I started following his approach and within two months i was ready for the exam ,in first attempt i missed by 1-2 points however i was able to pass in my second attempt.
Three things stands out in Vik's class:
(1) vik's grading practise.
(2) his simple way of explaining difficult topics.
(3) the last one is great food.
Of course his sense of humour always keep the mood light.
I would like to thank Collabcert team both Mike and VIk for helping me out in my journey, you guys are best in the industry and i wish you all the best.
David Lam - CCIE #53835 (Collaboration)
I had been on this CCIE Voice/Collaboration journey on and off for 4 years and I even attempted the Voice Lab in 2013 but it was fruitless. Self study using various training materials that I purchased from various training partners didn’t help me except it only made the journey seem more challenging at the time. I eventually signed up for boot camp with another vendor in March of 2016. I flew out from Los Angeles to Chicago, Illinois and drove to Crowns Point, Indiana to learn that the vendor had just closed shop and filed bankruptcy. That was an overwhelming disappointment for me. The next day, I responded to a blog from reddit.com and Mike from CollabCert reached out to me. He genuinely wanted to help me. Mike connected me with Vik and I drove up to San Jose for training and the rest is history.
Vik is an amazing Collaboration expert and he has an ability to take complex problems and make them simple to grasp. The training materials from CollabCert is by far the best I have seen. Vik is the real deal. Vik recommended a detailed time table for me and how I should study after boot camp. I took his advice and followed it. In late August of 2016, I flew up to San Jose, took the lab and passed. I wouldn’t have completed this journey without CollabCert.
Aaron Hagerman - CCIE #53815 (Collaboration)
I would like first to say thank you for all your help. As soon as I found out about CollabCert I knew this was the place to help me achieve my CCIE dreams. In the past when I was studying for the CCIE Voice track I thought I was on the right track. I took the lab and I thought for sure I passed as soon as I walked out, only later to find out I wasn’t close. It’s very disappointing when this happens time and time again.
The first week of attending CollabCert I was able to find out not only the correct way to study but also shortcuts and tricks to help me attain my CCIE. Once I started the second week of the boot camp you really see the value in the program. Never before was I given feedback on a completed lab before this class. This allowed me to not only see my errors but give me confidence once I was able to complete the lab with a passing grade from Vik. This would have been a great class if it all ended here, but it didn’t. After my class I was able to reach out to Vik on multiple questions that I had and get further information that was needed. And to top it all off the rack rental is great. The servers are fast and the hardware is exactly what you need to get ready for the real lab.
I would just like to say again thank you for putting up with me and all my questions throughout my CCIE lab experience. I truly believe that I wouldn’t have my CCIE if it wasn’t for CollabCert.
Antoine Nicholson – CCIE #53778 (Collaboration)
All I can say is WOW! I never thought I would be posting here…I’ve read a lot of the testimonials before mine and thought “I hope I am able to post here one day!” Well!...
Here is my day….i finally passed the CCIE Collaboration exam on my 2nd attempt.
Things that are HARD to get are worth working HARD for and I worked HARD for this one…but it isnt without the SHARPEST MAN on the planet teaching me…Vik Malhi!!!!
I reached out to Vik roughly 4 months ago (I had been studying off and on for 3-4 years)…I was totally frustrated with where I was with my prep…I had already failed miserably once and knew that I could do better but I wasn’t really understanding some of the technology and how to truly troubleshoot issues that I was running into. So I went to the Collabcert website and started reading the testimonials and ran across the post from Antonio McCarver. It struck a nerve with me because he was saying everything that I was feeling and going through.
So I should take a step back and say that I had known Vik back from his previous employer (years ago)…and I had, at the time bought a number of other training providers materials/labs…US and International based…and I still came up short!!!!
I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Vik one night, he asked detailed questions about my prep/knowledge and it WAS ON at that point!
Let me say this…It would take too long and multiple pages for this post to say what this man has taught me. In short, there is NO WAY that I could have achieved this goal without him…period!
I was unemployed for a year and a half when 4 months ago I took the last little money I had saved and paid for the 2 week bootcamp (yes a gamble, but one I was willing to make)…I attended the class and was kicking myself in the “you know what” because the class was “OFF THE CHAIN”…Vik made things that I always thought was super difficult…”simple” or should I say easier to comprehend because the way he explains things (you will always say to yourself “damn..really?? and then WOW!!) The other thing that you will get is the challenge piece…DO NOT THINK FOR ONE MOMENT that you’re going to class to simply get answers and/or a solution…NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! You are going to learn HOW, WHY and WHY IT DOESN’T WORK (troubleshooting…which is key for any CCIE)!
When you read the other posts…you will see that the recurring theme is that Vik cares about your success…when I read that I didn’t really understand it…but now I know…when he rolls that BIG RED BALL that he sits on next to you and grabs a piece of scrap paper to draw on at 6pm (well after class is over) to make sure that you understand something (one on one)…you get that feeling!!! The one thing that was invaluable for me was, when I had issues in my labs and I asked Vik why wasn’t it working….he would answer my question with a question “how did you troubleshoot it…what debugs have you run and what did you see??” That’s how we started…and that’s how I learned!!!!
When I sat the lab in San Jose…I ran into issues (and you will)…all I could hear in my head when time was ticking…is “tiger team go”…LOL…it was how Vik taught me how to attack the lab from a general config and troubleshooting standpoint, how to “read” the lab and understand what is being asked of you as well as knowing how to understand how a question in the beginning can affect the last question!
Lastly, like all the other folks before me…if you’re looking to learn Collaboration and pass the CCIE….STOP SEARCHING RIGHT NOW…trust me, I’ve been through ALL the “well-known” training and lab providers and NONE of them can hold a candle to “THE MAN”….Vik Malhi!
For those that have been to Collabcert…you know that Vik is an avid golfer because of the putting green in the class (when you need to take your mind off things)…but I must say…I and ONLY I hold the RECORD for the most putts sinked (4 out 5 from 20-25ft) at Collabcert!!! J
Lastly… DO NOT waste your time and money with all the crap that is floating around out there…you want the CCIE Collaboration cert…go to Collabcert!
Mason Nguyen - CCIE #53632 (Collaboration)
Five months ago I decided to pursue the elite CCIE number. I have been working on VoIP systems for about six years. I felt I needed to step up and become an expert in the field. I was referred to Vik from a good friend of mine. After reading reviews and testimonials from the Collabcert team, I went ahead and bought the (Workbook+LMS+2weeksILT&Workshop) package combo. I first started out by going over the LMS in the recommended modular way. I went over all the videos twice and some even more until I fully understand them.
I went with Option 1 (L2TP) rack rental. I bought my own router, switch, and phones on eBay. I reserved 7 days rack access whenever they’re available. This was my first time ever using rack rental and I have to say I was impressed. There was no lag and everything worked great. I was about to rack on my free time and have Vik answer all my questions along the way.
I broke up the two week bootcamps into two parts so I wouldn’t be over trained. I went to my first ILT bootcamp back in April 2016. The ILT was an eye opener because Vik walked you through the practice labs. He explains to you the different solutions and points out the errors you can expect to see if you were to make mistakes. This allows me to troubleshoot much faster. The classroom was big and very relaxed. It was fun and Vik made it comfortable for everyone. I’ve been to many boring trainings in my career. This one was definitely the most effective.
My last bootcamp was in the last month of July. I’ve been racking for the last two weeks. I felt good going into the last bootcamp. I worked on the lab on Monday through Wednesday. I focused on accuracy and speed. I followed Vik’s strategy and added my own to it. I was able to finish the practice lab in five hours. Vik worked with me one on one and provided me feedbacks. He told me I was ready and to schedule the lab. I went ahead and scheduled it for Thursday. Finally the big day came, I went in very focused and excited to knock it out. I walked out of the lab feeling really good. I received the lab score result report email from Cisco at 9PM. I logged in the portal and saw my NEW CCIE NUMBER! I PASS ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT!!!
I would recommend everyone to get the full package like I did. It is a must if you’re looking to get your number soon!
Thanks Vik for being a great instructor and helping me achieve another difficult goal. Without Collabcert, this journey would have been longer and probably more painful. Thanks Mike for scheduling my rack rental on time and finding me a spot in the second bootcamp after I have to cancel it. You guys are awesome and thanks again!
Mohammed Al Baqari - CCIE #53531 (Collaboration)
I have to admit that your study material was very helpful and your racks are #1 in the market without competition.
Luke Venn - CCIE #53488 (Collaboration)
I wanted to thank you for all your hard work, time and generally putting up with me during the learning process. I cannot tell you how pleased I am and that is in no small way down to yourself and the training plan at Collabcert!
Nathan Gageby - CCIE #53467 (Collaboration)
I wanted to thank you for all your help and putting this non traditional training plan together for me. The feedback from Vik made all the difference and I am now a CCIE. Your training and methods are clearly the way to go. Thanks a million!
Scott Beauton - CCIE #53394 (Collaboration)
Vik was able to break down topics where I was struggling and help me grasp the concept. When I did a mock lab Vik graded it and provided valuable feedback. I took this feedback and used it to improve on my labs and studying. I coudln't have achived my CCIE without the help of CollabCert.
Graham Andrew - CCIE #53325 (Collaboration)
I just wanted to say thanks. A lifetime ambition achieved (well, a 17 year ambition more precisely, but either way). It would've been considerably more difficult without your help.
Jahem N’Guetta - CCIE #52807 (Collaboration)
A special THANK YOU to Vik Malhi & Mike Down at Collabcert, Inc. for the professional training, patience, SOLID technical strategies and excellent bootcamps both in San Jose (California) and in Birmingham (UK)! It was really helpful to me to learn multiple different Cisco Collaboration configuration scenarios! I have been reading the Cisco SRNDs and online blogs since 2014 but I simply did not have a clear strategy to study and practice for the CCIE Collaboration certification until I came across Collabcert, Inc. by accident via Google last summer 2015 :). I live in the UK, took a leap of faith, left my wife pregnant with our son at the time and planned a trip all the way to California to attend their bootcamp! At last, I have now passed the CCIE Collaboration lab exam!!!! CCIE no. 52807!
My advice for anyone on the Collaboration path: be patient and take the time to understand what you READ and PRACTICE different configurations using Collabcert's workbooks! Use your time wisely. Time goes too fast. Peace.
Monte Young - CCIE #25194 (RS, Collaboration)
Thank you to the CollabCert team for helping me achieve the goal of passing the CCIE Collaboration lab. Mike and Vik are consummate professionals which made the decision to register for the CollabCert (LMS+Workbook) and Bootcamp easy. The training material has the best content and is well organized which makes studying and learning the technologies simple.
The bootcamp facility and equipment are top notch!! Thanks to Vik's highly effective guidance during the bootcamp, I passed the CCIE Collaboration lab on my first attempt. I highly recommend CollabCert, the return on investment is priceless.
Sean Alexander – CCIE #52377 (Collaboration)
Started on my CCIE journey back in 2012 and after a few unsuccessful attempts at voice lost focus with the change to collaboration and real life. Got back into it in late 2015 and had no doubt I wanted to use Vik and Collabcert as I know he was the best. I went for the self-study option to get me up to speed with the technologies and 1 week boot camp. Vik's videos are fantastic and make complicated topics simple and easy to understand – his examples and explanations are clear and leave no doubt in how it should be done. I did a 1 week bootcamp with Vik in January and gained a huge amount of knowledge and had clear expectations on what I needed to master before attempting my lab. I went back for another bootcamp the week before my exam and this was the best decision I could have made!
I can’t recommend Collabcert enough, Vik knows his stuff and I have no doubt there will be a lot more CCIE’s coming through Collabcert
John Ma – CCIE #52167 (Collaboration)
I passed the Collab CCIE lab exam. I want to thank you guys for all the help you have given to me. The workbook and configuration advice from Vik are invaluable!! They are the best I have seen. You guys are the best! I will absolutely without any doubt to recommend anyone who wants to achieve Collab CCIE to go to you.
Taha Hussain – CCIE #50462 (Collaboration)
Its been quite long since I chose voice as my career move. I started getting ready for my first attempt back in 2012 but I couldn't go for the exam due to job relocation. After couple of years, again I tried to focus on attempting the Lab which was changed a lot to adapt the collaborative aspect but for me the most of the things as I was already doing within my work place was not that scary. But for the exam, as we all aware of, it's a different story altogether. To start off, I had to focus and plan studies, section by section and Vik's work book did help me a lot in getting myself dive into more relevant areas. Unless you have the needful equipment, your time and efforts would be wasted. Although, I found out some rack rentals but figured Vik's rack were the most appropriate ones. As, I already had my physical phones as per blue print so I could easily get them connected via L2VPN which for me worked perfectly to get my hands dirty as much as possible. Lastly, Vik's assessment did help me a lot in improving up my strategies as well as technical bits. I believe, dedication and commitment was the key and if you could couple up with a mentor then consider it done!

Dabble to Pass in 90 days:
I am happy to announce that I cleared my Collaboration CCIE exam on January 14 2016. This was my fourth Cisco Expert certification (3 CCIE and CCDE). While I have been dabbling in IP voice since 1999 (and TDM since 1985), I decided to get serious about a year ago. I first spent nine months reading and watching videos on the CCIE lab topics. I when went to Vik’s bootcamp in November, I quickly realized that my hands-on configuration experience was very weak. Vik was extremely patient and gave me a great deal of one-on-one coaching. Thanks to Vik, my speed and accuracy soared and I was able to finish the actual exam with plenty time left to verify. I cannot say enough about Vik’s low-key, but highly effective training style. He coaches, not lectures, his students. Most importantly, Vik’s lab strategy was invaluable and was the key contributing factor that allowed me to easily pass. Also, the great pizza in the bootcamp did not hurt either.
Jon Snipes – CCIE #51786 (Collaboration)
I used the Collab cert videos and labs for training and after making a couple of unsuccessful attempts on my own I sat the 1 week CollabCert workshop. That boot camp and Vik's personalized mentoring was the push I needed to get over the CCIE hump. I would highly recommend CollabCert for anyone going down the CCIE track.
Mike Jennings – CCIE #51203 (Collaboration)
A huge thanks to Vik at CollabCert for helping me to pass the Collaboration lab exam the FIRST time! I attended Vik’s two week camp and also used his Video on Demand library. The video training was concise and well-organized. And the camps both filled in the technology gaps for me as well as helped me to develop the strategy that I ultimately used to pass the lab exam. Knowing the material is not enough to pass the lab. You need to have a solid strategy for configuration and time management.
My advice for anyone on the Collaboration path: use whatever vendor you like to gain the knowledge you need to pass the written exam. Then talk to Vik! The LMS topics will fill in whatever technology gaps you have. And the bootcamps will prepare you to apply that knowledge in a timed test environment. You will also LOVE that Vik does not believe in PowerPoint. I think there was a quick troubleshooting preso, but the rest of the two weeks was either whiteboard discussions or lab time on YOUR OWN rack of equipment.
Matt Wigfield – CCIE #51423 (Collaboration)
After looking at other companies material for the CCIE Collaboration written and lab, I choose CollabCert for the one simple reason of Vik Malhi. I sampled material from a couple trainers and Vik was the only one that gave you enough information for what you needed and didn’t go so deep that you stopped listening and keep you engaged in the material.
I used the LMS system for preparing for the lab and it was complete and everything was being updated which most companies did not do. If I had any questions with the material, I was able to email Vik and would get a precise response to the material in question.
When I finally was ready to sit the lab and had a date picked out, I went to the two week boot camp. The camp was geared towards strategy and speed. I came out feeling like I could pass the exam on the first attempt. After leaving the camp I scheduled rack time and had zero issues unlike other rack rental companies.
Thanks to Vik and team, I walked into the lab prepared and ready to tackle it. I walked out of the lab knowing I passed and confirmed that later in the evening after only the first attempt.

I had the opportunity to speak with Vik in person and after talking with him I knew I would have a good experience with his training facility and approach to the lab exam. I took Vik Malhi’s CollabCert Workshop twice and the experience cannot be considered to be in the same class as some of the training vendors out there. There were NO shared labs, bandwidth issues, misconfigured racks and when we paid for the workbook he actually gave it to us! The training center is an actual training center with a kitchen and an astonishing view of downtown San Jose. The tables have a huge amount of space and you can easily spread out notes, laptop, keyboard and mouse. Vik stayed late with us and was very patient with even the most inexperienced students in the class. The workbooks and facility alone were worth it but I truly do believe the best asset is learning from Vik. He gives you an actual game plan and teaches you how to attack the lab. When you come out of his class you will know what you need to do. At that point, it’s up to you banging out the hours of practice on the keyboard to get your number. Go to CollabCert, practice, practice, practice and get your number!

First and foremost there are NO words that can adequately express how grateful and thankful I am to have passed this beast of an exam. There are even fewer words that I can use to describe how blessed and fortunate I am to have had the training and tutlage that I have had from Vik Malhi. To say that he is the best in the industry is an understatement.
Anyway where do I start? If I go to the very begining then we may be here all day long. However, I need to, as best I can, give credit where credit is due. The journey for me honestly started back on December 19, 2008. That's when I was notified that I had won a complete end-to-end training program to begin preparing me for the CCIE Voice track. I decided that I would start preparing after the new year started and when the CCIE Voice track was going to be changing from v2 to v3. That's when I met Vik Malhi who was the Sr. Instructor at the time, and Mike Down who was one of the sales consultants. I made some half-hearted attempts at the Voice track and if I am being honest with myself, I probably was more afraid of putting in the "real" work to get over the hump.
So how did I go from half-hearted failed attempts on the CCIE Voice track to passing the CCIE Collaboration track? Simple, knowing that over the years that Mike Down and Vik Malhi never gave up on me, even when I gave up on myself. I made the decision to pursue my CCIE Collaboration with everything that I have in me. I decided that I would sacrifice whatever I had to sacrifice to make it happen. That's when I contacted Mike and said "Hey I haven't seen Vik's material since he started CollabCert but I want to EXCLUSIVELY use whatever material he has. Oh and I have 5 other people that want to join me." That was the birth.
I convinced 5 of my buddies that Vik was the best trainer in the world and that I was sure that his material would be the difference between us passing and us failing. I was right! (3) of us have passed and the remaining (3) are preparing for their studies now.
So how did it happen? Again the answer is simple, I started with the CollabCert LMS + Workbook material. I watched and devoured every video that Vik has in the LMS. And honestly, his LMS product is without question the best product in the market to help you go from wherever you may be in the technologies to knowing the technologies inside and out. I would watch one of his videos and then work my way through his workbook. Vik's ability to keep his hands on the pulse of the industry while at the same time being able to teach and explain the most complex scenarios in the most lamens of terms.
I could honestly stop right there and it would all be true. However, the secret sauce. The reason why I actually passed. Yes I had to put in the work. I spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours, in front of the rack pounding a keyboard and making phone calls. But the truth beyond the truth is, I passed in part because Vik and Mike care about their students. I attended Vik's bootcamp back in April and took my 1st attempt on May 4, 2015. I thought I was game and ready but Vik cared enough to be honest and say, "I don't think that you're ready." He was right. I wasn't and I ended up not passing. I was hurt and devastated and I took a break. A long break actually. A 4 or 5 month break. BUT during this time, Vik never gave up on me. He would still call, text, or email. Name another instructor that cares enough to take the time to do that with their students while at the same time preparing other students to pass!
I got up off my behind and said I can do this and I told Vik that I was going to pass this test. He told me to schedule the exam and don't change the date. I did. I set it for October 15. I got back on the horse and I worked my butt off. True to his character Vik was still there for me. Looking at my configs, answering my questions, and most importantly being honest with me about where he felt I was at. I sat for the lab and came the closest that I have ever come. I showed him my score report and he said "schedule it again for 30 days from now and get it done."
So what made the difference this time. Was it the superior training material from CollabCert? Yes that played it's part. Was it all of the hours that I spent in front of the rack? Yes that played it's part as well. What about the vested interest that Vik has in all of his students? Sure that made a difference too. But what it was, without question was the workshop bootcamp AND Vik remaining honest about what I was doing right, wrong, and just stupid. Up until the night before my exam, Vik was hitting me up and reinforcing where my shortcomings had previously been. Name another instructor in any track at any company that will take their time to call or text a student (while a class is going on none the less) and say "hey let's talk about this or that"?
The night before my exam after Vik and I spent an hour going over some minor details and him dissecting my personal strategy, he says "I think you're ready!". No words can describe the level of comfort in those words from someone that you believe is the best in the business. That night I couldn't sleep or rest well. I woke up at 3am EST the morning of my exam. Read my notes from our conversation and said I can do this. I went into the lab and stuck to my gameplan. When I was about to do something stupid, I heard Vik's British accent say "Don't do that or Why are you doing that?" I learned at the bootcamp that it's just as important if not more important to have a testing strategy in place and not just a configuration strategy. I was finished with my lab in more than enough time to test, re-read the lab, test some more, read the lab again extremely slow, and test again.
I walked out of there feeling like I passed. I immediately called Vik and we conversed about my day. There were some challenges along the way but because of our conversation I was able to overcome those in the way that a true CCIE should be able to. Vik ended the conversation with "Good luck, I hope you got it. Text me when you get the results." Almost 3 hours later it happened. I got the email from Cisco with the subject of "CCIE Lab Score Report". My first thought was, oh man that was way to soon this can't be good. But I trusted my configs and I trusted Vik's teaching. I went to the CCIE portal, logged in and I saw the greatest (4) letters ever, "PASS". I clicked on PASS and there it was "Congratulations on passing the CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam!" along with my brand new shiny CCIE Number: 51061! I took a screenshot and immediately sent it to Vik. Why? Because he cared enough to never give up on me, always be honest with me, and to do what he could to help me get over the hump.
So if you are one of the ones that looking to pursue the CCIE Collaboration, why would I recommend the awesome folk over at CollabCert.com? Simple:
1.) The LMS+Workbook is the best training material on the market.
2.) The Workshop Bootcamp is without question the best in the world.
3.) Vik Malhi and Mike Down care more about your success than any amount of money.
If you do your part and put in the work, trust in the products that CollabCert offers, and allow Vik to mentor you, you will experience the extreme unexplainable joy that I am feeling being a CCIE Collaboration! Vik, Mike, THANK YOU! I love you both!

On 19th of November I pass my CCIE Collaboration LAB.
I would like to thank you for great bootcamp in Cracow which was very helpful during my “journey” to be an expert :)
Thank you Vik!

Thanks for the great training which helps me finish this "scary" journey quickly. It was a great experience. Much quicker than I thought. I feel lucky to choose Collabcert's two weeks combo training class. First week of ILT helps me understand some key technologies which is the bone for lab exam. Vik's explanation cleared a lot of my questions I have before. Second week workshop is also a must to improve the speed, reduce error and finalize your own strategy. That's muscle you need for the lab exam. I have tried two strategies in 2nd week and finally chose the one I'm more comfortable with. Vik's help on 2nd week helps a lot on how to verify your lab configuration and how to make less mistakes. In addition to these two weeks training, the video and workbook from Collabcert is the best I have seen. I strongly recommend any candidate watch and read them before you sit in the class. You will have a very good understanding of technologies and be ready to sharpen your skills in the training.
Definitely recommend Collabcert for any CCIE collaboration candidate. Thanks Vik and Mike for helping me to achieve my goal.

Please can add me to your list of success stories. I passed the lab yesterday and am a newly minted Collaboration CCIE.
In my classes I have been talking up CollabCert as the most valuable investment in CCIE Collaboration prep someone can make. It certainly was for me!

I started my CCIE journey few years back. Took CCIE Voice lab three times without any luck and had almost given up on CCIE. Finally luckily for me, I came across Collabcert and Vik Malhi.
Today, with my humble pride, I can say that I am CCIE because of Viks' unparalleled and unique way of teaching and his “whatever it takes” approach to make his students become successful. Vik's videos on the CollabCert LMS and the Workbooks are a very good start even for beginners in Collab domain. The Collabcert two week bootcamp covers everything from practicing all the technologies covered in CCIE Collab blueprint to the unique lab strategies to grading the lab before you take the actual lab.
I think the big difference between any other CCIE Collab training vendor and CCIE Collabcert is Vik. He was always there via phone/email even after I took the bootcamp to help with anything I needed help with.
Thank you so much Vik and the CollabCert team for helping me achieve my Collaboration CCIE. Without your awesome efforts and support I wouldn't have achieved my CCIE dream!!!

I really can't say "Thank You" enough to Mike Down and Vik Malhi. I have finally cleared the CCIE Collaboration Lab and join an elite group of engineers. This journey started for me over 10 years ago when I met my first CCIE. Back then I made it a long term goal and have finally reached that goal.
Throughout this process I was absolutely humbled by Vik's generosity and patience. He went above the call of duty to set me up for success. Mike Down was always accessible and quick to respond to emails and online messaging.
I started studying for the CCIE 3 years ago when it was called Voice and with a different company. Here are 3 reasons why I will always tout CollabCert as the best in the business.
(1) CollabCert LMS is far superior to educational products that I had used in the past. I was able to watch instructional videos and prepare to maximize my time while at boot camp. It also allowed me to learn at my own pace. Rather than drinking from a fire hose while in class.
(2) CollabCert Rack Rentals are the best out there! I have used many rack rentals from all the competitors. I never had a minute of downtime with CollabCert. I had even bought all of the gear for a home lab and preferred to use CollabCert's over my home rack. Renting a rack for a week at a time took me to the next level!
(3) What really pushed me to the next level was sitting the workshop bootcamp prior to my exam. During this time, I was able to utilize the onsite racks and have access to Vik. That week Vik was able to provide a fresh set of expert eyes to see that I was making incredibly simple mistakes that were costing me critical exam points.
Thanks Mike and Vik for helping me reach my personal goal!

I started my journey back when the track was known as CCIE Voice. I attended Vik’s bootcamp, and I can say that he has a unique way of explaining the most complex technologies in a way that is understandable and easy to digest. In my experience, there is no other company that matches the quality of the products provided by CollabCert.
The videos and workbook help prepare students for the bootcamp. The bootcamp provides the final touch that is needed to face and pass the real lab. For example, at the bootcamp, students learn techniques so that they can be efficient and finish the lab in 8 hours – error-free. These are just a few out of the things that one learns in Vik’s bootcamp. Even after the bootcamp, Vik can be easily reached and is responsive to helping students. He stays directly in touch with his students and provides them with the guidance they need until they achieve their goal – passing the CCIE Lab.
Collabcert’s grading service helped me understand the mistakes that I was making, which helped me to cover the gaps that I needed to address so that I could pass the lab. I highly recommend Collabcert’s End to End training solutions for CCIE Collaboration!

I first met Vik in 2013 at one of his earlier boot camps. Within the first day you can immediately tell that not only does he know his stuff well, but he also has the amazing ability to teach it to others in a way that’s so easy to digest. I remember he told us a story about how he locked himself in his basement one weekend in order to figure out how to truly understand one of the more challenging topics on the blueprint and teach it to his students. That’s how dedicated he is.
Based on my earlier experiences with his bootcamps, I felt CollabCert provided the right training solution for me without question, to get over the hump. I echo all the other testimonials that speak to the high quality of the videos, workbooks, and even the blog posts. However, I also want to emphasize the incredible customer service you can expect from Vik & Mike.
They both worked with me to ease some concerns I had with the product offering in the beginning stages of my journey. There were no canned email responses. They both responded to me directly. I was even surprised they recognized me by first name at a social event they hosted at the most recent Cisco Live in San Diego. This showed me that they truly cared about their customers’ success and were not just looking to make a quick buck.
To sum it all up, Vik is truly one of the experts at his craft, but more importantly he understands & knows how to teach it to others very well. If you want to have a better chance of passing your exam while truly becoming a Collaboration expert, go with CollabCert. – CCIE #49877

It was three years ago that I decided to go for my CCIE, but to truly make the commitment to studying after the written exam was ten months ago. I spoke to Vik about his teaching style at CollabCert and also looked at some of his materials and I truly believed I saw light at the end of the tunnel. I stuck to my guns, studied hard and finally on August 18th 2015 (my second attempt) I passed my CCIE Collaboration lab.
I used Vik's bootcamp as well as his willingness to grade my practice exams and give me feedback. There's quite simply no one else out there who can or will do that and I truly believe that was the difference maker. I would have improved on attempt #2 but I don't think I would have passed. Vik gave us a deep dive back into the concepts but also gave us feedback on our practice labs.
I cannot recommend CollabCert enough, I felt lost prior to using CollabCert, but upon using Vik's materials I knew I was on a faster more focused path to success. Thank you Vik for helping and making the experience fun at the same time.

My quest restarted in late 2014 in reviewing which Collaboration training provider I should choose . I had met Vik before at another provider and decided to stick with him on his new venture as for me the quality and ability of trainer is paramount. I'm based in the UK and went initially for the LMS + workbook package using the VPN router/switch configs provided and my local phones. Working remotely, the response speed was fast - better than I expected - no waiting for CLI to respond or UCM webpages to load !
The Collaboration blueprint is huge - the workbook sections and associated training videos allow you to just focus in and around the technologies you might expect to find in the lab. With the daylong rack sessions, I was able work on my own place and get to grips with technologies I had not seen before like EMCC or my little experience with video. With hindsight, doing as much prep by working through the workbook exercises several times was key to getting the most out of the bootcamp.
I signed up for the 2 week bootcamp. With the assistance of Mike Down, I was able to find a great deal at a knock down price at a top hotel walking distance from the training centre which was so good after a long day on the racks. You have your own pod and the lab work is broken down into sections where you're able to work at your own pace getting the individual attention of Vik when needed. The first week I learnt so much in what to look out for, how better to test and verify my work and learning to pay more attention to the detail. Being able to work well into the evening and a few hours at the weekend also helped a lot in ironing out the weak spots.
The second week focus shifted more on mentoring, learning how to adapt and practice a strategy for you own approach for the real exam. Adapting Viks approach , tuning and time keeping was crucial for my real attempt.
The bootcamp turned out to be very rewarding experience not only for its content but also learning from the experiences of the other students, also in discounting all the misinformation picked up from various forums in the general discussions ! Vik is also a very sociable chap, the few times spent after hours at the local watering hole just made the trip very enjoyable.
I passed at the second attempt. Vik continued to mentor and support with updates to videos/lab exercises . I took both attempts in Brussels where in my experience they also seem to have a very good proctor !
I have always been a contractor and financed my own training - the Collabcert package has been by far the best investment I have made.
Thank you Vik and Mike for helping to achieve my CCIE Collaboration Certification.

For those seeking the Collaboration CCIE there are a number of offerings out there for you to prepare. But if you are using anything other than the Collabcert resources your efforts will most likely be futile. I attended a 10 day bootcamp hosted by Vik where he provided us with the foundation to become an expert. The issue is that, that doesn’t happen in 10 days it takes several hundred additional hours of perfect practice to gain a level of expertise need to reach CCIE. Just as important is mentorship and that’s where Vik differs from everyone else out there. He continues to coach you throughout the entire process, exposing you to your shortfalls so that you don’t fall for them when it matters most. Without Vik's graded labs, phone calls and emails I would not have succeeded. Thanks for everything Vik!
Jakub Rachwalski - CCIE #49439 (Collaboration)
Thanks to Vik’s broad knowledge and outstanding teaching skills I passed CCIE Collaboration in my first attempt. My journey started with CollabCert videos which in a very clear and comprehensible way present the topics of the exam. Later, I participated in two weeks boot camp that gave great knowledge and helped me gaining confidence that the exam is within my reach. Vik was always well prepared, eager to help and giving clear and coherent answers regarding both the technology and the exam itself. During that time I benefited not only from the technical lectures and extensive practical labs but also from the Vik’s valuable advice on the strategy and testing during the lab. The last part of my preparations was renting a rack from CollabCert - it was really reliable, always available, enabling me to prepare well for all parts of the exam. During the real exam I felt confident and really well prepared. I am sure the final success wouldn’t be possible without CollabCert. Thank you Vik!
Dominik Loniewski - CCIE #49226 (Collaboration)
Long story short. Vik is the best trainer you can have and I had! I started this journey with Voice (without success). When Collaboration blueprint was announced I thought I will never finish this chapter. Thankfully I took the bootcamp with Vik in May, 2015. His deep knowledge, explanations, strategy planning, tons of questions, self-testing, rack rental – gave me the bonus – I’m finally a CCIE!!! Besides technology learning – Vik’s approach to “tune” your individual approach, “killing” stupid ideas, plus guides, is something I missed in Voice and got for the Collaboration.
Rick Randgaard - CCIE #49218 (Collaboration)
For years I toiled at the Professional level, intimidated and frustrated. In deployment, I seemed to make every mistake possible, and learned most things the hard way. Once I made the decision to seriously pursue my CCIE certification I found that there were mainly the forums/study groups (loaded with misinformation), or the “big two” corporate certification training companies. On the advice of a recently-certified co-worker, I checked out Vik’s self-paced video modules, and workbooks. He was able to help me fill in the knowledge gaps I knew were there, and identify some new ones. I utilized the rack rentals, with the workbooks, to put it all together.
Once I had a date set for my lab, I attended Vik’s workshop in San Jose. During this week my entire paradigm of the CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam shifted, from something that might possibly be completed successfully after a couple attempts, to a goal easily within my reach. I will not tell anyone it was easy. There is a major time sacrifice necessary. Mine was time well spent. And thanks to Vik’s videos, lab setup, and most importantly, his individual feedback, I walked into the lab confident in my knowledge, and skills. Now, I am happy to say I passed the CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam on my first attempt. Immeasurable thanks, Vik!
Michael Salvo - CCIE #28122 (Collaboration)
CollabCert is the best decision you can make to prepare for your Collaboration CCIE. Vik truly has a gift for teaching. The goal of being a CCIE is to understand the technologies. Vik not only teaches you how the technologies work, but he provides one on one attention and takes the time to work with you. It is up to you to make the commitment to work hard and make sacrifices. Thank you Vik and the CollabCert team for helping me achieve my Collaboration CCIE.
Andrzej Lampa - CCIE #49147 (Collaboration)
In May 2015 I attended a CCIE Bootcamp with Vik in Krakow. I thought that after my 4 failed attempts on CCIE Voice there was nothing that can motivate me on giving it one more try. However this bootcamp gave me strength and confidence to book another attempt. After an additional two weeks of preparation on CollabCert racks I am CCIE #49147. Thank you CollabCert.
